This week we've continued to polish the game, making it all nice and shiny just in time for our first big content update of the year next week. Speaking of which, we've heard your feedback and made a few small changes to War's Retreat. Read on to find out more!
Among the fixes and changes we've made this week we have the following highlights:
Last week we revealed our new PvM Hub, War's Retreat. If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch the live tour below. Go ahead and look. We'll wait.
All done? Great! As a result of the feedback we received last week, we've made a few changes ahead of the War's Retreat release on January 27th:
We agree that significant chunks of content should have associated Completionist Cape requirements. With that in mind, War's Retreat will now come with four new Achievements.
To unlock the Completionist Cape, you will need to complete:
To unlock the trimmed Completionist Cape, you will need to complete the meta Achievement War, What Is It Good For? which you will receive after completing the other three Achievements.
At midnight on January 26th the following auras will be removed from Solomon's General Store and added to the Reward Store in War's Retreat:
You will keep any auras you have already purchased with Loyalty Points, and they will automatically count towards the Aura Aura Aura! Achievement. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any Loyalty Points spent on these auras.
This one isn't really a change but rather an addition. From launch of War's Retreat (January 27th) until February 10th, we will apply 50% extra Reaper Points to ALL completed reaper assignments!
This will apply to all assignments, not just the ones you've attuned in War's Retreat portal.
Calling all Twitch Prime members, there’s a fresh loot to grab! Until February 4th, you can get the Umbral Bow, the Umbral Staff, and the Umbral Cloak, along with every other Umbral Cosmetic you haven’t yet claimed. It’s a real steal, and all you have to do is link your RuneScape and Twitch Prime accounts.
Our live streams are always a great opportunity to grab some awesome in-game prizes! Right now, each and every RuneScape stream watched will give you a random drop from one of the following:
Chance based (if unowned):

You’ve requested more opportunities to exchange with our JMods on all the hot topics from Gielinor, or just about something you’ve been wanting to know for a long time. Well, now’s your chance! Whether it be technical details on existing in-game content, War’s Retreat, Archaeology, Elder GWD, future quests, or even requests for changes/fixes, just ask us live and we’ll answer as much as possible.
Got a question you’d like us to answer on stream? Send them on Twitter with #RuneScapeLive, and on the dedicated Reddit thread we will open no later than today!
This week, our featured streamer is Shauny! Join him for a laid-back gielinorian session with a special treat: a talk with Mod Ramen about the creation of Solak and other projects – LootScape included!
You can now receive in-game loot when you watch a RuneScape streamer. It works exactly the same way as our official streams, just watch Shauny’s stream on (his Twitch channel) and you’ll receive the LootScape the following day.
LootScape will be enabled (see all details above).
